The Seychelles is a collection of 115 islands located 4 degrees south of the equator,
approximately 1000 miles off the east coast of Africa in the western Indian Ocean.

41 Inner Islands constitute the oldest mid-oceanic granite islands and 74 form the 5
groups of low-lying coral atolls and reef islets that are the Outer Islands. Seychelles is
northeast of Madagascar. Their relative isolation over the centuries have resulted in a unique
flora, fauna and beauty. The granite islands are the most scenic because of the huge boulders
lining the beaches creating a breathtaking scene. Combined with the lush green tropical vegetation,
which contrast with the white beaches and crystal clear azure seas, I am always stunned by the
beauty everytime I fly into the Seychelles. |

Most people live and work on 3 main islands Mahé, Praslin, and La Digue. The
largest island is Mahé and is home to the capital, Victoria, (the smallest capital in the world),
the international airport, and the majority of the population. There are plenty of activities on Mahé
including shopping, snorkeling, diving, or sunbathing on a deserted beach.
Many people go straight to Praslin, the second largest island. Praslin still exhibits a much more laid-back pace of life than
on Mahé. Beaches on Praslin such as Anse Lazio and Anse Georgette are considered some of the most
beautiful beaches in the world. Praslin is a short 15 minute flight from Mahé.
One cannot talk about beaches in the Seychelles without mentioning the most famous of all, Anse Source D’Argent,
on La Digue Island. The beach is truly spectacular with huge granite boulders spread across a seemingly
endless amount of beaches. La Digue is a short boat ride from Praslin and makes for a great day trip.
A number of unique luxury resorts have been developed on smaller islands. North Island,
Frégate Island, Cousine Island, Sainte Anne Island, Felicite Island,
Denis Island, Desroches Island and Round Island off Praslin. Each have only one resort on their Island. The resorts range from 4-25
fantastic villas. These islands are ideal getaways to relax, dine, and dive at some of the most secluded,
beautiful, and luxurious island resorts in the World. For the ultimate in seclusion and privacy,
renting an entire island for your party can be arranged.
